Honest scope
If you do not need it, I will tell you. Selling equipment that does not solve your problem is a short-term business.
About
I started this business to help people who did not grow up fluent in technology hold their own in a world that assumes everyone did. You get the same person on every call — someone who remembers how your network is wired and does not need re-briefing each time.
The story
We live in a world that assumes everyone is comfortable with technology. Most people are not, and they should not have to be. I started Sarasota Tech Solutions for the homeowner, the shop owner, and the office manager who never set out to run their own IT department but ended up doing it anyway.
I have been taking computers apart to understand how they work for as long as I can remember — hardware first, then software. That curiosity turned into a computer science education and a series of CompTIA certifications, but what it really gave me was a habit: understand a system from the ground up, so the fix actually holds instead of coming back next month.
Security cameras are where that matters most. A camera system should give you real confidence that your home or your business is protected. What it should not do is lock you into a monthly bill for footage you do not even own. Companies like Ring and Blink built their business on that subscription. I install NVR systems that record locally, belong to you outright, and keep working whether or not you are paying anyone every month.
That is the idea behind this business: give people genuine ownership of their technology, and explain it in language that respects them.
Background
How I work
If you do not need it, I will tell you. Selling equipment that does not solve your problem is a short-term business.
You will always understand what I did and why. Jargon is how people get talked into things they do not need.
Tidy cable runs, labeled equipment, and documentation you keep. The install should look as good as it works.
Your domains, your accounts, your passwords, your footage. Everything is in your name and handed over.
Let's talk
No sales script and no obligation — just a straight conversation about the problem in front of you.
